The course concerns with Roman History from the beginning to the 4th A.D. It encompasses the analysis of the most important moments for the development of the institutions of Rome, the economic aspects and the culture of the roman society. |
Students who choose this course will learn the methodologies utilised in classical studies to analyse correctly latin source texts as inscriptions and ancient coins. |
The course deals with the history of Rome from its humble beginnings to the fourth century A.D. It covers the period between the Kingship and the Republic; the conquest of Italy; Roman expansion, Pyrrhus, Punic Wars and provinces; Augustus and the formation of empire to the time of Constantine. |
