It is a great pleasure to welcome you to this exciting module. Over the next four sessions we will show you the power of statistics applied to finance and other areas of science. You will learn how to find relationships among various sets of data, and how to derive solid conclusions from limited samples of information.
Some of the exercises are quite complex, and while it is still possible to calculate them on a piece of paper using only a calculator, it is not advisable. Instead, the calculations are done in Excel, and we will show you how to perform very meaningful analysis quickly and efficiently. Depending on your computer skills, you can choose to use a different software or programming language, such as R or SAS. |
