This module provides students with an in-depth understanding of the key principles of events management and the specialist skills required for a range of different roles.
Additionally, this unit is concerned with the application of management practice in event management to the creation and development of events. The module looks at the interesting and exciting challenges of working with stakeholders and the vital event management skills required by the events industry. |
The aims of this module are to encourage students to:

Demonstrate a clear understanding of the different approaches to, and dimensions of organising and managing events in different settings

Critically assess the use of different methods, techniques and data for evaluating the various types of impact of events.

Relate debates about (event) management to wider trends in economy, society and culture, including the changing role of (consumer) services and the creative industries within them.

Articulate and communicate effectively, the issues and tensions associated with translating the principles, theories and concepts of events into practice.
