Περίληψη

GlobalEU offers the tools for understanding the dimension of the European Union considered in a global perspective and fostering communication and the exchange of knowledge. The expected result is to promote active citizenship and European values and to support policy development at the national and European level, fostering international dialogue between academia, researchers and policy makers, thus also acting as a vehicle of public diplomacy towards partner countries.

Περιγραφή

The "Globalization and European Union Policies for Integration" module is a short-term teaching program supported by the Jean Monnet Actions, which focuses on European Union studies and the integration process. The module explores the dual relationship between European integration and globalization: European integration anticipated aspects of globalization and also acts defensively against its disruptive forces. Europe exemplifies inclusive sovereignty by addressing transnational economic interdependence through decision-making institutions and procedures.

The course includes an introduction to EU institutions and a comparison with global institutions, emphasizing the EU's role in the global economy alongside the US and China. It delves into the impact of globalization on Europe's vulnerable workers, studying the European Globalization Adjustment Fund that supports workers displaced by globalization.

The module also covers EU institutional developments for integrating third-country nationals, focusing on worker mobility and highly qualified personnel. It examines the EU's migration and mobility strategies, the European Agenda on Migration since 2015, and recommendations for attracting talent to the EU, including the EU Blue Card Directive and its 2021 review. It highlights specialized funding instruments, the European Migration Forum, the European Integration Portal, and the European Integration Network.

Additionally, the module analyzes how European and global institutions address climate change, introducing concepts like the Space Economy. The program aims to promote active citizenship, European values, policy development, and international dialogue between academia, researchers, and policymakers, serving as a public diplomacy tool with partner countries.

Στόχοι

The module covers the need to help disseminate knowledge on how EU integration policies can benefit the daily life of all citizens and how they can influence the development of as many policies at the national and international levels. At the same time, one of the main cornerstones on which the activity of UNINETTUNO has always been based is linked to this need, the creation of connections between universities, students, and teachers, through internationalization.

Specific objective no. 1: Expand the didactic offer for UNINETTUNO University students and offer a specific academic training opportunity for those who wish to specialize in European studies and intend to take the first steps in their career within the European institutions.

Specific objective no. 2: Create a dialogue and disseminate knowledge on European Union studies, promoting innovative teaching and research.

Specific objective no. 3: Raising teaching at an international level with a multidisciplinary approach
