The International Telematic University UNINETTUNO will broadcast on its satellite television channel Rai NETTUNO Sat 1, the World Summit of the Nobel Prize Laureates, that is taking place in Rome, in Campidoglio, from the 17th to the 19th November. It will be possible to consult the programme broadcasting schedule on the University Internet site www.uninettunouniversity.net, the first didactic portal in the world in 4 languages: Italian, Arabic, French and English.

Having come to its seventh edition, the Summit days will be broadcast in entire on Rai NETTUNO Sat 1 starting from Saturday, the 25th November. UNINETTUNO staff will film the whole conference that later on will be translated and broadcast in three languages (Italian, English and French) in all the Euromediterranean area that is covered by Hot Bird satellite that can be watched also on Sky 822 channel. After Peter Gabriel’s nomination as “Man of Peace 2006”, all the conference key moments will become lectures, models of life and social commitment whose messages will be amplified thanks to satellite television and it will be possible to turn them into positive models of life for the audiences of Europe and of the Arab World. The network of 31 universities of 11 Mediterranean countries created by UNINETTUNO will actually be used to spread this message in the universities and youths’ meeting places. Actually the students of the Arab world are using Rai NETTUNO Sat 1 satellite channel to watch lessons in Arabic, Italian, English and French delivered by the professors who are collaborating with the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO; so doing they study at distance and obtain an academic title recognized in Europe and in the Mediterranean Area. Beside lectures, the students will be able to follow the teachings of the Nobel Prize Laureates protagonists of the Summit in a perspective of dialogue among cultures and of exchange of knowledge which has always been the philosophy inspiring the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, a single great university where the best international professors teach on Internet and on television in different languages.
“Broadcasting one of the most important events worldwide on the issues of peace we wish to raise awareness and educate the citizens of the Mediterranean area” – states Prof. Maria Amata Garito, Rector of the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO and director of Rai NETTUNO Sat satellite channels. “Thanks to the potentials of new technologies such as satellite TV and Internet – goes on Prof. Garito – we intend to teach young people above all the universal values”. Precisely because of its commitment in the Mediterranean area, Rai NETTUNO Sat 1 also in 2006 was given the prestigious “Hot Bird TV Award” for the “Culture and Education” section as best satellite channel in the Euromediterranean Area.
The International Telematic University UNINETTUNO was established with the decree of the 15th April 2005 by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, the first Euromediterranean distance university that broadcasts its courses in four languages (Arabic, English, French and Italian) on the Internet and on television.
