Objectives
Il corso di geometria ed algebra lineare relativo alla Facoltà di Ingegneria ha come primo obiettivo principale, quello di condurre lo studente ad acquisire la necessaria competenza nella soluzione di sistemi lineari di equazioni della interpretazione geometrica di tali soluzioni attraverso l'introduzione del concetto di spazio vettoriale. Il secondo scopo fondamentale e' quello di insegnare ad usare le tecniche di algebra lineare per affrontare e risolvere problemi geometrici in due o tre dimensioni.

  • Complex numbers. Polynomials.
  • Vectors: sum, scalar product, wedge product.
  • Vector spaces; subspaces. Bases and dimension.
  • Matrices: elementary operations and properties.
  • Linear Systems: reduction method, Rouchè-Capelli theorem.
  • Linear applications and associated matrices.
  • Eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Diagonalization of matrices.
  • Elements of analytic geometry in R2 and R3.
