Civil environmental engineering (Academic Year 2020/2021) - Construction, Survey and Topography

Technical Drawing and Architecture

Credits: 9
Content language:Italian
Course description
The Technical Architecture and Design course introduces and explores aspects of language and representation as the main tool for the approach to design and management of the construction process, the core activities of civil engineer profession. Though expected in the first year of the course, it provides the learner with some basic teachings and cognitive elements that combine to form the basis for a subsequent introduction to the world of the profession after the process of learning and graduation. The course developed through the study of three main topics or macro areas which define basic knowledge of the discipline of representation and technology architecture. - Cognitive elements of design - Architectural survey; - Analysis of the sub-systems and building systems.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites or introductory examination.
Objectives
The course develops an educational path that provides, on the one hand, the different expressions of technical representation, largely arising from the basic language of drawing, contextualized in a cognitive framework through the review and methodological critique of the different main processing, on the other, it shows the main concepts for the approach to architecture, devised as the main phase of the cognitive building construction process, both the in-depth analysis of the technological constructive component as a competitor to identify the elements of the building organism. The subject contents are identified with regard to the requirements for the professional engineer training working in civil areas, construction, environmental and land. The course is aimed at training the basics needed to achieve selective and synthetic skills for the resolution of simple design problems, with particular reference to the technological project as a complex system.
Program
The course contents will be dealt according to the study of the following topics: - Cognitive elements of design: the role of design, main graphic techniques, historical notes on practices and developments in progress, traditional systems, specialized engineering language, technical design and processing of geometric data from the three-dimensional space to the representation on the floor, graphic-geometrical for plane figures, orthogonal projections and sections, isometric methods for synthetic views. - Architectural survey: The process of the survey in construction, approach to existing buildings and territory, processes and methodologies, analysis of the role of representation for the management of the relief and subsequently of the project, review of basic documentation and some of the issues relevant to the management of the interested systems (for example: maps at different scales, brief analysis of the geometric structuring of the territory in view relation to morphological factors, elements of analysis of works of civil works and construction). - Systems analysis and sub building systems: the evolution of the cognitive process by mono disciplinary analysis of the "elements constructive "to the multi disciplinary" Technology Architecture ", analysis of the main systems and sub systems through the decomposition of the building organism, the example of Masters of the Modern Movement, case study examples of contemporary architecture.
