Management Engineering (Academic Year 2013/2014) - Production path

Production systems

Credits: 9
Content language:Italian
Course description
The course provides a complete training course inherent in the knowledge of the main production techniques for plastic deformation. It shows in particular the technologies most widely used in mechanical manufacturing and provides the theoretical and practical bases of the various transformation processes involved in these technologies. Depth are the main concepts that relate to the foundry. Further investigation will cover the mechanical properties of metallic materials. With reference to the production will be discussed some concepts related to quality. To complete the training will be identified the main design techniques of production cycles.
Prerequisites
Physics, Calculus and Linear Algebra.
Objectives
The purpose of the course is to provide the knowledge to achieve expertise in the design and management of the main techniques of production based on the transformation of raw materials. Particular attention will be paid to the determination of the quality factors of production processes, able to guarantee the basic knowledge on the techniques of waste management and continuous improvement.
Program
Introduction to concepts related to production in foundries. The production model in the foundry. Mechanical properties of metallic materials: tensile tests and hardness. The quality in production. Main types of production systems: the Group Technology. Overview of the main characteristics of the production processes of plastics. The exercises are essentially oriented to the understanding and design of production techniques based on the transformation of raw materials.
Book
to be defined
Exercises
The exercises are essentially oriented to the drafting of simple cycles, and its assessment of its cycle time. In some cases simple steps will be taken to the calculation of the forces and powers required to perform simple technology.
