Course description |
The teaching is mainly concerned governance policies for the development of tourism and provides a careful examination on how these have historically evolved to the present day. The course also addresses the issues of territorial marketing and sustainability, a fundamental criterion, the latter for the strategic planning of tourism development. The implementation of policies and strategies at the institutional level is matched by the measures the EU is active in order to promote the achievement of the objectives set at the central level: Structural and design techniques, therefore, constitute a relevant section of the course. Are dealt with, in addition, some cross-cutting issues such as the types of tourism demand and its evolution, the design of tourism products in response to changes in demand, which fall into different disciplines, but that must be contemplated in the development of the educational program. |
Prerequisites |
There are introductory formal but it is a discipline whose instruments and strategic approaches are better reflected by the learners who are already familiar with the Law and the legislation of tourism (with regard to the bodies of the apparatus tourist public, how they work and skills) and the basic concepts of marketing (segmentation, positioning, etc..). |
Objectives |
The teaching of this discipline aims to promote understanding of the tourism industry in economic and knowledge of tools for forecasting, planning and government in it, with a view to destination management and definition of tourism products tailored to different segments application and objectives for the area. The course aims to provide learners with the basic techniques and professional needed to move effectively in the modern tourist market dominated by the question, and to operate in a local context that can not be limited to the national system but extends its boundaries to include a European dimension from which it is no longer possible regardless. |

• The governance policies in tourism: from 1900 to the present day: lessons from 1 to 4
• Developments and trends in supply and demand for tourism: lessons from 5 to 8
• Cultural Economics and the environment: lessons from 9 to 11
• Design and European territorial: lessons from 12 to 13
• Territorial marketing: lessons from 14 to 15 |

Exercises |
The exercises are designed to facilitate the learning of the various topics covered in the training course.
