In the framework of the “Innovation Arabia 9” Conference in Dubai, being held up to March the 9th under the patronage of His Royal Highness, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum – Prince of Dubai and President of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) – a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Rector the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, Maria Amata Garito, and the Rector of HBMSU - Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, Mansoor Al Awar, was signed. The signature took place in the presence of His Excellence, the Lieutenant General, Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Vice President of the Police and General Security in Dubai and President of the University’s Board of Governors.
Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), established in 2002, shares with UNINETTUNO a commitment to promote a culture of quality, excellence and research in the Arab World through e-learning. Unique in its genre, HBMSU can count on worldwide leading position and reputation due to its academic and professional programs that can suitably meet business and employment needs in a rapidly expanding society such as that of the Arab Emirates.
Again the e-learning model created and adopted by UNINETTUNO overcomes its national borders and gets into the Arab Emirates as well.
UNINETTUNO and the HBMSU signed an agreement aimed at developing academic cooperation and scientific research in fields of common interest; at realizing joint contents and curricula and promote the mobility of the teaching staff. The first courses, based on shared curricula, that will be implemented, will be the Second-Cycle Degree course in Economics, envisaging an Islamic Finance path, a Master’s Degree on this same subject and a Second-Cycle Degree in Digital Economics.
Actually, the idea is that of joining efforts in order to deliver scientific and educational services worldwide that are up to date with the fast development imposed by the Digital Era.
Important objectives which add another building block to UNINETTUNO’s project to realize – jointly with other excellence-level universities worldwide – a new model of university, a global “Smart University”. Jointly, with the universities of countries of different cultures, religions and political settings we wish to democratize the access to knowledge in order to shape the future of the younger generations.
