TEACHING ACTIVITIES PLANNING

Financial Mathematics

Structure of the module training path

In line with the didactic model of the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, also for this discipline you students are divided into classes of thirty, (if you are tutors of the engineering faculty the classes consist of 20 students).

In the area related to classes, you can know the names of the members of your class and their e-mail. It is important that you start a relationship with your classmates in order to implement together not only cooperative and collaborative learning processes with the tools that your university provides you with such as Chat, forums and e-mail, but also to develop socialization processes online. To socialize online, you also have available a space on Second Life in the UNINETTUNO Island of Knowledge, your university.

The course delivery period is scheduled for four times in a year to allow you to have the availability of constant guide in the development of your learning processes, that is, your tutor.

The teaching activity’s structure is designed in such a way that you can:

  1. study on your own and develop self-learning processes thanks to all the educational materials available in the Didactic Cyberspace, such as the videolessons for this course that were delivered by prof. David Gerard Stack. The videolessons are digitized and indexed hypertextually and made multimedia by bookmarking for each issue covered by the videolessons with texts, articles, books, exercises, lecture notes, bibliographies and webographies);
  2. have the possibility of being followed, both in groups and individually, by your professor/tutor who guides you through the learning process in diachronic (forum and e-mail) and synchronic (chat also audio and video and video conferencing in the virtual classroom) modes and helps you develop cooperative and collaborative learning processes.

During the Acad. Year, the module of 2024/2025 Will be delivered for three times. At the end of each delivery period, after about 15 days you will be able to sit for the exams. The course delivery periods are as follows:

During the evaluative chat section, the professor/tutor individually administers forms with open-ended questions, similar to the examination test.

The dates of the chats or meetings in the virtual classroom of the portal or in the Second Life classroom are available in the agenda posted in the Didactic Cyberspace.

You students can also request to open thematic chat sections.

The thematic chat is preceded by a discussion section of the subject matter of the chat, on the subject forum. All course issues are discussed on the forum.

In order to facilitate the learning path, for each conceptual area are specified, according to a criterion of prevalence and with purely indicative value, references to the videolessons and chapters in the textbook and the further study book. Each videolesson is divided, in turn, into a few main issues.

Linked at the end of each videolesson is a summary exercise on the main topics covered in the videolesson, which is divided into 6 questions (3 of which are closed-ended and 3 open-ended) and can be useful to the student as a path for self-evaluation of his learning progress. The student is not required to send the answers to these questions to his tutor, but can request clarifications and support should he find, through the self-evaluation path, learning difficulties on specific issues.
