Federico Casolari is Assistant professor of International Law at the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna where he teaches EU law. He is also member of the Flying Faculty of the China-EU School of Law, of the Erasmus Academic Network LISBOAN, and of the Interest Group on the “EU as a global actor” of the European Society of International Law. Federico Casolari’s current research agenda includes: 1) the fragmentation of International law; 2) the relationship between European Union Law and International Law; 3) the external relations of the European Union; 4) the general principles of EU law; 5) the European Disaster Response law. This latter topic has been the subject of a 2-year project, in which Casolari has been involved, which has led to the publication of the first comprehensive study on IDRL (Springer, 2012). In 2012, Casolari acted as Senior Legal Expert within the EU Project ‘Support to Judicial and Legal Reform in the Republic of Kazakhstan’ (EuropeAid/128586/C/SER/KZ), and as Legal Expert of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the Programme “SMEs Governance and Development” (N:Aid.: 009424.01.5). He has also been involved in the management of the Course of higher education in Governance and development of SMEs in Egypt, organized by the University of Bologna in co-operation with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and addressed to Egyptian ministerial officers. In 2013 a new edition of the Course, addressed to Tunisian officers, has been organized.
